What do consultants really think about their clients?  And, what do organizations really think about their consultants?  What makes the difference between a consulting problem and high consultant satisfaction?  What differentiates a good consultant from a bad consultant?  How do you find a good consultant?  What qualities should you look for?

Answers to all these questions – and more – will be available thanks to The Consulting SurveySM.  Designed and developed to be the first, broad based annual survey of both consultants and their clients, The Consulting SurveySM is an essential component of the research program of Consulting Intelligence, LLC.

 

One Important Survey - Two Different Viewpoints
Part 1 of the survey gathers information on the experiences individuals and organizations have had with consultants.  This part will document key elements of client satisfaction, the perceived benefits – and risks – associated with engaging external consultants and the specific qualities that are considered most important when evaluating a new consultant.

Part 2 of the survey gathers information on the experiences that individual consultants and consulting firms have had with their clients.  This part will document how consultants perceive the capability, competence and cooperativeness of their clients, the various approaches and methods they use when working with clients and the specific qualities they believe are the most important when deciding to work with a client.

The results of both parts of the survey will be reported independently.  Then, a summary will be released that compares and contrasts the information gathered from the consultants with the information gathered from the customers.  Information collected in 2007 will serve as a baseline for comparison in subsequent years.

For 2007, the survey’s inaugural year, it is being co-sponsored by the American Management Association and the Institute of Management Consultants USA.
